About your instructor
Jeremy Smith
Jeremy has spent nearly two decades on the frontline as a paramedic and paramedic educator, working everywhere from regional Victoria to some of the most remote parts of Australia. He has trained volunteer ambulance officers, developed first aid programs internationally, spent a year in Mongolia supporting Red Cross training initiatives, and prepared hundreds of medics for the Australian Defence Force.
Mighty First Aid began after a maternal child health nurse pointed out a gap: regional parents didn’t have easy access to practical, child-focused first aid training. That didn’t sit well with Jeremy. Having seen firsthand how early intervention saves lives, he was determined to change it.
Becoming a dad only strengthened that resolve. He understands the quiet anxiety that comes with caring for small humans and believes confidence is one of the greatest gifts you can give a parent.
Jeremy is known for making complex medical concepts simple, clear and enjoyable. He gets a genuine buzz from watching the moment something “click.” Because in his world, a few basic skills can go a Mighty long way.
